Many florists in the commercial floral industry have extended themselves to marketing balloons, cards, stationary, stuffed animals and the like. Mrs. Nohai feels that by doing so it has taken them away from the basic care and true talant of what a floral designer represents. Her shop will cater to those clients looking to have wonderful long lasting healthy flowers in thier homes and the homes of those they love.

Another trend she wants to stay clear of is the middleman groups that tote low cost fees to get your inital business. "What happens with such group like 1-800-flowers and Teleflora is they broker the work to a local florist, who pays a lot of money to be in with these groups, and then by the time you pay for the groups cut and delivery charges, the arrangement you thought you sent for $40.00 turns into $25.00!" says Mrs. Nohai. "Not to mention that these groups tote 100% satisfaction but they do not monitor the quality of the local florist that they do business with".

Meredith's floral backround started in 1989 while attending the B.O.C.E.S. program during High School. For 4 years after school hours she worked at Just For You Florist in Montrose, NY where she gained considerable knowledge in the field.

During the attendance of the B.O.C.E.S. program she was elected to compete in the New York State Vocational Clubs of America Competition of which she won first place.

While attending the Westchester Business Institute College to learn the ins and outs of running a company, she worked for the very upscale floral designer Diana Gould in Scarsdale, NY. While employed with Diana Gould she became very knowledgeable in the day to day operations of a full scale floral company. She visited the flower market and attended set-ups of large parties at such places like Tappan Hill.
